Learn to Fly Glass Cockpit for less

Did you know you can learn to fly in a glass cockpit for less than most schools charge for old fashion round gauges? That's right, you can. In the clubs I teach from, a glass cockpit Cessna 172 can be rented at a rate under $150 an hour, and that's with fuel.

Why fly in an advanced cockpit aircraft? First of all safety. Many of the Garmin equipped aircraft come with XM weather (that's weather with in 15 min of when it happens beamed directly into the airplane). You can see other aircraft from the screen in the airplane making it possible to see and avoid possible conflicts. Navigation has never been easier than in a technically advanced aircraft such as the G1000 equipped Cessna 172 and 182.

Are you already a Pilot but want an advanced rating? Why not do so in an aircraft that has a G1000. Full GPS capabilities, Autopilot, XM Weather, Terrain and Traffic awareness built in, as well many many extras that make information and situational awareness better than at any other time.

Intro Flight  Only $149

Up to an hour of Flying around the Beautiful San Diego Area where you will be hands on Fling the Airplane. The Price includes up to 1 hour in a G1000 equipped aircraft and Ground Instruction. This May be an Introductory flight, but it also counts towards becoming a pilot, so you can log all of your flight time. Your Introductory flight will be in a Cessna 172, or Piper Warrior both safe reliable aircraft.

No Better time to Become a Pilot

With the economy failing, and Pilots being furloughed from every major airline, it may seem like it's the worst time to consider aviation as a career. In spite of this bleak look in the aviation industry, this may actually be the best time to begin your training toward a career as a pilot! Fewer pilots than ever are choosing a career in aviation. Last year, pilots were being hired with less than 400 hours of flying time, along with the airline industry retirement age raised from 60 to 65.

When the economy turns around as it always does, many of the pilots that have been furloughed will not return. Many now have other obligations or new jobs, that keep them close to home and family.  The Pilot pool will be smaller and if you are ready to step up, you may be ready for that dream job. Contact me about what it takes to build a promising career in aviation as a commercial pilot!
